The International Arbuzovs Prize in the field of organophosphorous chemistry

July 11, 1997, on the eve of the 120th anniversary of academician Alexander Е. Arbuzov, outstanding chemist, the Creator of a new branch of chemistry - chemistry of organophosphorus compounds, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev signed a Decree on the establishment of the International Arbuzovs Prize in the field of organophosphorus chemistry.

The 80th anniversary of academician Alexander Konovalov

The 80th anniversary of academician Alexander Konovalov will be celebrated on January 30, 2014.
Alexander Konovalov - a renowned scientist, organizer of sciences and public figure. For a long time he headed the world-famous Kazan chemical school - the "cradle" of the Russian organic chemistry.
He put a lot of effort to develop science and education in our country, being on various leadership positions: rector of Kazan State University, Director of the A.E. Arbuzov Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry, Chairman of the Presidium of the Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, vice-president of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, the vice-president of the Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society, Chairman of the Scientific Council on organic and organometallic chemistry.

In recognition of the scientific merit Alexander Konovalov was awarded orders "Red Banner of Labor", "Order of Peoples’ Friendship ", "Order of Honor", "Order of Merit for the Fatherland IV and III".
