Laboratory of chemistry and physics of supramolecules
The Laboratory of Chemistry and Physics of Supramolecules was organized in 2002. The Laboratory was headed by Academician of RAS A.I. Konovalov. Since 2008 the Laboratory supervisor is Professor Asiya R. Mustafina.

Main directions of research
- Synthesis of calixarene derivatives and their metal complexes, exhibiting sensing, luminescent and logic gates functions. In the past decade the heterometalic complex, being the molecular logic device, giving the luminescent response to the applied redox potential, has been developed.
- Development of approaches to the creation of multifunctional supramolecular aggregates and nanosize particles on the basis of calixarene complexes. Novel silica nanoparticles, being of 40±5 nm size, highly luminescent due to about 5000 luminescent Tb(III) complexes doped into silica core, stable to aggregation in aqueous and physiological solutions, have been developed as a basis for the design of highly sensitive biosensors and biomarkers. Novel silica nanoparticles with the dual visible-NIR luminescence have been synthesized through the insertion of both Yb(III)and Ru(II) complexes into the silica core.
